Nurse Case Management Assistant (Managed Care)
The Nurse Case Management Assistant assists with the day to day operations of the Nurse Case Management Department's workflow; provides timely and appropriate distribution of nurse case management referrals; assists the TCM and FCM as needed to effectively and cost efficiently manage the medical issues of a NCM referred case.
Prepare and process documents (NCM referrals)
Disseminate faxes to Nurses in a timely manner
Maintain Excel spreadsheets (monthly reports)
Support field Nurses, i.e. obtain medical records, claim file detail, communicate UR Coordinator information and available to answer email, calls and faxes
Back up assistant for WCA UR program - calls, emails, faxes, and letter regarding UR needs
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Self motivated
Ability to multitask
Ability to prioritize workload
Excellent written and oral communication skills
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of Claims Connect, WORKLINK
Microsoft Suite of products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Knowledge of Workers Compensation and the role of the Nurse Case Manager
EDUCATION:
BS / BA or Equivalent Work Experience
Experience:
1 to 3 years
