Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist applies incoming cash to outstanding invoices.

ESSENTIAL JOB
Responsibilities:
Apply payments from all deposits received in all bank accounts. This includes payments deposited via office scanners, lock box deposits, EFT and ACH deposits.
Reconcile accounts as needed to enable correct application of payments and process refunds when indicated
Work with clients, York Collections Representatives, Billers, Adjusters and other York staff as needed to obtain correct payment application information
Perform daily reconciliation of payments posted against banking information to ensure accuracy
Participate in specific collection activities as directed by supervisor.
Participate in special projects and perform related tasks as directed by supervisor.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist reports to the Supervisor, Accounts Receivable
Required Skills:
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to use banking website efficiently
Ability to use accounting database and spreadsheet program
Detail and deadline oriented
Ability to question when information is missing or incomplete
Must be organized

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of basic accounting
Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable practices
Some knowledge of collections procedures
Familiar with accounting software programs

Experience:
EDUCATION:
Junior and/or 2 year College; BS / BA or Equivalent Work Experience

3 to 5 years

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
