May act as a mentor to less experienced colleaguesAccountabilities in this roleThe AIX/Linux Systems Engineer has shared responsibility for support on a 24X7X365 basis to handle all severity of problems, incidents, and requests for server administration on Cardinal?s environment.? Operating System software, utility software, and day-to-day ?Run? support for Linux and Legacy mid-range platforms.? Support of systems utility software, applications, documentation, third party software and compliance.? Applies comprehensive understanding of concepts within own technical area to design relatively advanced solutions; demonstrates understanding of key business drivers.? Serves as an expert within a technical area and educates others on technical issues.? Manages capacity on physical and virtual server infrastructure? Services clients in problem resolution and in processing service requests? Performance monitoring, system tuning, and capacity planning experience? Ability to troubleshoot issues independently? Supports complex projects of large scope? Collaborates with clients, business partners, and transaction center(s) to deliver services? Work with Vendors to understand and resolve complex issues? Experience teaching & developing others technical skills? Excellent verbal and written communication skillsTechnical Skills Preferred? Suse 10.x,11.x and Redhat Linux 4,5? HP-UX 11.x, AIX 5.3, 6.x? System automation and management technologies? Clustering/HA technologies and methodologies? Working understanding of networking technology? Rolling out and supporting patch cyclesQualifications? Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience? 4
years experience in related field preferred? Applicable technical certifications preferred
