Ashland is seeking to hire a Staff Scientist within Ashland Specialty Ingredients, Industrial Specialty business, you will be part of our Structural Assembly Adhesive R&D; group. This position is located in Dublin, OH.
Responsibilities :
Develop and commercialize solvent based and water based roofing membrane bonding adhesives for roofing applications
Develop and commercialize phenolic adhesives for rubber-metal bonding applications in transportation markets
Develop new products through a scientific approach including adhesive design, synthesis, formulation and evaluation of product performance to meet the market needs
Provide customers with technical service support including trouble shooting, problem solving and sale growth
Provide manufacturing support and new product scale-up in production
Create and share technical knowledge and findings, develop technical sales tools and provide training to internal commercial representatives and external customers
Work collaboratively with cross-functional team including marketing, product management, sales, manufacturing and technical personnel for new product commercialization
Participate in monthly technical and business review and submit monthly technical report
Attend trade shows and promote new products in key conferences and trade shows
Maintain good lab practice and fulfill all environmental and safety requirement

Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters of Science in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or related field
Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience is required
Experience with demonstrated proven commercial successes with significant financial impact from projects execution
Industry experience in solvent or water based adhesive formulation and applications is highly desired
Excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a scientific approach to problem solving are essential
Multi-task with good time management and project prioritization skills
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
