As a Purchasing Specialist at GFS Chemicals, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goodsYou will work closely with various departments to identify their purchasing needs, source suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationshipsYour attention to detail and ability to streamline processes will be instrumental in optimizing our supply chain.
Requirements:
High school diploma requiredAssociate or bachelor's degree in related field preferredA minimum of 2 years' experience with purchasing chemicals within a GMP environmentAbility to understand and follow purchasing procedures and practices.
Effective verbal and written communicator, able to communicate with a variety of audiences and management levels with proven negotiation skills.
Read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications.
Strong chemistry knowledge and understanding.
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task; quickly transition from one task to another while responding to interruptions.
Must be self-driven and have the ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities.
Proficient use of and experience with Microsoft Office products; SharePoint experience is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Proficient with the English language (ability to read, write, and speak English fluently).
Strong analytical and statistical problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical math skills including metrics, basic algebra, and conversions.
Demonstrated personnel management experience.
Must be knowledgeable on MRP/ERP Systems (MS Dynamics preferred)Essential
Responsibilities:
Vendor management and negotiations -Identify and evaluate potential suppliersNegotiate contracts, terms, and pricing.
Maintain strong vendor relationships for quality and on-time deliveries.
Purchase order management and cost control -Create and manage purchase orders efficiently.
Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock levels.
Analyze pricing and cost structures for cost-effective procurement.
Supplier performance and risk management -Evaluate supplier performance regularly.
Mitigate supply chain risks.
Develop contingency plans for disruptions.
