Capacity Install Technician (AWS GovCloud)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations.
Our Infrastructure team is responsible for day to day installation of servers and network equipment, structured cabling, project work and capacity management.
This technician will also be involved with installation and troubleshooting of structured cabling, management of infrastructure inventory levels, physical installation of network and server racks and/or devices and management of data center services vendors.

This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location.
You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
You will launch cutting edge server technologies and solve diverse networking impairments.
You will quickly and accurately assess a wide range of infrastructure issues, which requires a good understanding of computers, servers, switches and various networking devices from both a hardware and software perspective and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology.
To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations.
In addition, you must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
You will be able to leverage your experience exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.

Key job responsibilitiesPartner with cable vendors to install, inspect and troubleshoot cablingInstallation and maintenance of copper and fiber cable infrastructureInstall, test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cordsEnsure that the Data Center and vendor installations comply with all installation practicesReport current status via ticketing system, status reports, email and slackManage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projectsMaintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centersExhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanlinessWork with a partner to move integrated enterprise equipment from loading docks into planned positionsManage, check and coordinate all materials to be delivered to site dailyCarry cell phone for communication, information, and emergenciesUp to 50% travel within geographical work area may be required; some travel outside traditional work area may be requestedAll physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
