Work Based Learning Program Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

Job summaryAmazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP).
Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings, and will start all technicians in December 2022.
These trainees will participate in our 12 week work and training program in our New Albany and Dublin, OH Data Centers.
The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data centers.
The EOT serves as a technical resource to support the data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers.
EOT's are Amazon's front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation.
As a WBLP EOT you may train and work on these systems:
stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's, PDU's, AHU's, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFD's, and building automation systems.

To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations.
In addition, you must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
You will be able to leverage your experience exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.
Responsibilities:
Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment Assist root cause analysis of equipment failures Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment Ability to work night shifts to support 24/7 onsite coverage Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team.
Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
