Work Based Learning Program Data Center Operations Technician
Job summaryAmazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team as part of our Work-Based Learning Program (WBLP).
Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings, and will start all technicians in September 2022.
These trainees will participate in our 12-week work and training program in our New Albany, Dublin, Hilliard Ohio Data Centers.
Responsibilities:
oEnsure overall availability and reliability for our customers within our Data CentersoInstall new rack equipmentoDecommission existing racksoRepair and diagnose broken serversoHandle computer equipment and partsoManage network gear during installation, decommissioning, and repairIn addition, all candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team.
Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.
Physical Requirements:
oWalk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch.
Work at heights and from ladders oRegularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds unassisted; and participate in group lifts for 36 pounds or moreoMust be able to lift loads of up to 49 pounds and carry them for short distancesoContinuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)oReach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balanceoPush or pull heavy objects into positionoDaily travel between sites may be requiredoAbility to stand for long periods of timeHere at AWS, we embrace our differences.
